When a friend once asked if my father was good at what he does, I replied, “I’ve never met someone more in love with their career or more artistic when it comes to HVAC.” My dad came to the U.S. and built his own HVAC company around a simple tagline: “We do it all.” If he doesn’t know the answer, he’ll enjoy figuring it out.
That same curiosity runs through me. Whether I’m researching a legal question, writing about history, learning something new, or taking on a creative project, I’ve never been particularly interested in staying in one box. So, in my own way, I’ve adopted his philosophy: I do it all.

At Agnes Scott, I had the freedom to explore a wide range of interests. I studied history and French, conducted historical research, studied abroad, and took courses outside my majors in subjects ranging from education to studio art. That experience helped shape the curiosity and willingness to try something new that I still carry with me today.

My time in law school allowed me to explore several areas of interest through coursework, clinics, externships, and advocacy. I was especially drawn to opportunities involving legal research and writing, disability rights, professional responsibility, and public service.
Professional Experience
My experience in state government and the legal field has allowed me to develop my research, writing, communication, and problem-solving skills. Each opportunity strengthened my interest in understanding complicated issues and helping people find practical solutions.
Legal Experience
During law school, I gained practical legal experience through the Olmstead Disability Rights Clinic, the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office, and the State Bar of Georgia’s Office of General Counsel. These opportunities allowed me to work on legal research, review case files and evidence, draft memoranda, and observe legal proceedings. They also gave me a better understanding of how the law affects people in different circumstances and strengthened my interest in public service and advocacy.
Government & Administrative Experience
Before law school, I spent more than six years at the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, where I progressed from a Certification Clerk to a Certification Evaluator and eventually a Certification Transition Specialist. My work involved interpreting state certification requirements, reviewing applications, and helping educators and school systems navigate administrative processes. That experience strengthened my communication and problem-solving skills and gave me a foundation in regulatory work that I carried into law school.
Leadership & Community Engagement
Throughout law school, I looked for opportunities to develop my leadership skills and give back to my community. I served as Co-Media Coordinator for the Black Law Students Association and coached moot court, where our team earned recognition at the regional and national levels. I also participated in pro bono and community service projects, including helping build an accessibility ramp for a veteran and assisting with initiatives involving affordable housing and estate planning. These experiences reminded me that meaningful contributions can take many forms, both inside and outside the legal profession.

Beyond the Résumé
On an average day, I can be found reading fantasy or sci-fi novels, listening to comedy podcasts, practicing yoga, or knitting an oblong scarf. Maybe even all of the above at once!
From learning Python when I hadn’t taken a math class in four years to floundering and huffing my way through running three miles as an inexperienced athlete, I push myself to get comfortable with “failures” (they should be called teachable moments)! I’ve always enjoyed trying new things I’m not immediately good at and figuring them out as I go.
